My name is Lauren and I am so glad you are here.

My own life was greatly transformed by pursuing God through Spiritual Direction. It is an honor to share more about who I am and how He has faithfully guided me through a journey that began with heartache and pain, and has blossomed into deep joy and contentment. I eagerly look forward to getting to know you and hearing your story!

My Story

It was in a season of deep desperation for more of God, for profound intimacy with Him, that I first encountered spiritual direction. I longed to connect with His love, to truly know I am loved and redeemed. The encounters I had with Jesus during that time sustain me to this day.

 

When the idea of spiritual direction training emerged, I held it with open hands before God. Despite a late application, a profound sense of peace and belonging settled over me when I was accepted into the Leadership Transformation's Selah Spiritual Direction program. It was clear God was near, guiding me, and everything began to open up.

Now, as a spiritual director (in training), I am honored to offer a space of comfort and peace for those seeking a deeper, more vertical connection with God. My own witness to the Holy Spirit's encouraging and uplifting presence fuels this calling. This is why I am here—to welcome you into a more intimate connection with the Holy Spirit through spiritual direction.

What is Spiritual Direction? 

Spiritual direction is a time-honored practice that offers a confidential and sacred space for you to deepen your relationship with God. It's not about being "directed" in the sense of being told what to do, but rather about holy listening and co-discerning the movements of the Holy Spirit in your life.

In our busy world, it's easy to feel disconnected from the God. Spiritual direction provides an intentional pause, an opportunity to:

  • Pay attention: Notice where God is already at work in your daily life, in both the mundane and the profound.

  • Explore: Bring your questions, longings, struggles, and joys into a supportive space where they can be openly examined in light of your spiritual journey.

  • Discern: Develop a greater sensitivity to the voice of the Holy Spirit, learning to recognize and respond to God's invitations and guidance.

  • Grow in intimacy: Cultivate a deeper, more conscious, and loving relationship with God.

As your spiritual director, I act as a companion and a witness. My role is to listen deeply, ask open-ended questions, and create an environment where you can freely explore your inner spiritual landscape. The ultimate "Director" is always the Holy Spirit, and together, we will seek to discover what God is actively doing in your life, leading you towards greater peace, purpose, and a more vibrant connection with the Triune God.

My Training/Experience

My professional journey began as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, where I've spent years in private practice, accompanying individuals through various challenges and supporting their mental and emotional well-being. This experience has deeply honed my skills in empathetic listening, discerning underlying patterns, and creating a safe space for healing.

Now, I am actively expanding this foundation by attending Leadership Transformation's Selah Spiritual Direction program, where I am being trained as a spiritual director. This intensive program is equipping me to integrate my therapeutic understanding with a deeper focus on spiritual formation, allowing me to guide others in recognizing and responding to God's presence in their lives.
